SEPTEMBER DISCIPLESHIP TRAINING OVERVIEW
The September 2026 YWAM Nelson DTS is a five-month adventure of following Jesus with your whole heart. It begins with three months of focused training—learning God’s ways, discovering your calling, and building a strong foundation. Then, during the two-month outreach, you’ll take what God has done in you and bring His love to the world.
This school is perfect for anyone hungry to grow spiritually, ready for adventure, or looking for a meaningful gap year. It’s also the gateway into future YWAM schools and University of the Nations courses.

What to expect
Worship
Experience transformative times of worship, deepening your intimacy with God and connecting with others through powerful communal praise.
Lectures
Engage in insightful lectures featuring multiple guest speakers, designed to grow your faith, refine your identity in Christ, and equip you for effective ministry.

Intercession
Participate in focused intercession, learning to pray with purpose and passion for individuals, communities, and nations.
Community
Become part of a vibrant, supportive community where friendships are formed, and life is shared both inside and outside the classroom.
Work Duties
Contribute to the community through meaningful work duties, developing a servant's heart and a strong work ethic.
Evangelism
Be equipped and inspired to share the love of Jesus with others through various evangelistic activities throughout the community.
Adventure
Enjoy our beautiful back yard while you're here. Getting out in nature with activities such as hiking, paddle boarding and swimming.
Journaling
Cultivate your spiritual growth through regular journaling, capturing your journey, prayers, and insights from God.
Prophetic
Discover the heart and intimacy of God through the prophetic while learning to impact nations with creativity of prophetic gifts.
One on Ones

The training phase is all about encountering God and letting Him shape your life from the inside out.
Field Assignment
After three months in Nelson, you’ll join your outreach team and head into the nations. Outreach is a hands-on, fast-paced, faith-filled time of serving communities, encouraging local believers, and sharing the love of Jesus with those who have never heard.

Training phase cost NZD $5,950
(Includes lectures, food, accommodation, local transportation and activities)
Field Assignment cost approx. NZD $5,000 - $7,000
(depending on location)
(Includes airfare, food and accommodation, and transportation for the 8 week outreach)
Does not include vaccines, visas, passport fees and personal expenses
