Coronavirus update from YWAM Nelson New Zealand
Updated 7 Jan 2022
Greetings in Jesus’ Name!
Currently the Omicron variant is prevalent in NSW, Australia, with an excess of 23,000 cases per day. NZ has 90 cases at the border, and 3 in the community. It is therefore inevitable this rapidly transmissible variant will spread in NZ.
This makes it necessary for us at YWAM Nelson to respond in a thoughtful and wise manner to keep members of our community as safe as practically possible.
YWAM Nelson is a training and mission sending organisation. We believe we are to “Go into all the world…” (Mark 16:15) and therefore, as those who have gone before us did, we believe in order to fulfil the great commission we may need to make certain sacrifices to bring God’s love to others and to protect the vulnerable both in our community and those we are called to.

The leadership of YWAM Nelson are continuing to monitor the situation on a regular basis. Our YWAM community are kept informed of all developments and recommendations from government and relevant authorities and the Protection Framework (traffic light) recommendations are implemented at the campus.
Applications to our Feb 2022 Presence Crossroads DTS and May 2022 Building Discipleship Course are now open. Accepted overseas applications will be subject to border restrictions and quarantine requirements.
We will continue to monitor global conditions over the coming months which may affect the above.
